He was predeceased by: his parents, Bradley Crain and Renthie Coates Crain; his brothers, Charlie, Vance, Herman, Howard and Lawrence Crain; his half-brother Troy Crain; his sisters, Thelma Mashburn, Ester Burton, Colene Shankle, Mary Cutshaw and Macie Brogdon; and his half-sister Viola McIntosh.
He is survived by: his wife Velva Crain; his children, Ron Crain (Diane) of Erwin, Teresa Sellars (Joe) of St. Augustine, FL and Sandra Gregg (Larry) of Erwin; his stepson Brenton Miller (Lisa) of Johnson City; his grandchildren, Jeremy Sellars (Kendra) of Spotsylvania, VA, Matthew Hodge of Jonesborough, Joe Birchfield (Kilby) of Chesnee, SC and Rachel Cassity (Chad) of Statham, GA; his great grandchildren, Savannah, McKinley, Adren, Weston Sellars, Matthew Jr., Madison Hodge, Abram, Kaylee and Rylee Cassity; and his sisters-in-law, Betty Crain and Hannah Crain of Johnson City. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
