With heavy hearts, we announce the death of George W. Tipton (Jonesborough, Tennessee), who passed away on April 2, 2018. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parent Oscar Tipton; his son Freddie Tipton; and his granddaughter Misty Briggs. He is survived by: his parent Arbetta Nelson Tipton; his wife Charlotte Franklin Tipton; his children, Hubert Tipton, Oscar Tipton, Susie Painter and Martha Plyer; his siblings, Oscar Tipton Jr., Dwight Tipton, Caroline Rhodes and Helen McCurry; and also Jonesborough. He is also survived by five grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren.
