George Edward Lane Sr. Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of George Edward Lane Sr. of Jonesborough, Tennessee, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on December 26, 2024 at the age of 93. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Burl George and Argie Lou Hammonds Lane; his wife Helen Lorraine Lane; and his brothers, Robert, James (Jim) and William Lane (Bill).
He is survived by: his children, Kathy Garber (Dondi Dolen) and George Edward Lane, Jr. (Brenda M. Lane); and his grandchildren, Waylen L. Garber, Jr. (Nikki), Brandon L. Garber, Kayla L. Garber, Bryant E. Lane (Carlee Lane), Michael R. Lane (April Lane), Wendi L. Skeens and Rebekah Honaker (Bryan Honaker). He is also survived by 23 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; along with several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, December 30th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM at the Gate City Funeral Home (136 Beech St, Gate City, VA 24251). A funeral service was held on Monday, December 30th 2024 at 2:30 PM at the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel (136 Beech St, Gate City, VA 24251).
