He was predeceased by: his parents, George W. Hopson and Rosa Sheppard Hopson; his wife Mary; his children, Billie Ruth Hopson, Jerrie Staten and Bobby Hopson; and his daughter-in-law Kathy Hopson.
He is survived by: his sons, Lester "Gene" Hopson and Jimmy Hopson (Teresa); his children-in-law, David Staten and Connie Sluss; and his stepdaughter Barbara Mead (Ed). He is also survived by eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
