He was predeceased by: his mother Miranda Taylor Meeks; and his wife Ann Russell Meeks. He is survived by: his sister Marjorie M. Webb; his brother-in-law Gene Pierce of Prattville, AL; his son Edwin Allen Meeks Jr.; his wife Mary; his daughters, Elizabeth M. Lueck (Michael), Lynda M. Carter (Bill), Julia M. Slemp, Margaret "Rita" Teeters and Sarah M. Roberson (Shawn); and also Matthew Taylor Meeks (Katie). He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren, 6 nieces and 5 nephews.
