He was predeceased by: his parents, Orbra Reaves and Essie I. Jennings Reaves; his wife Jennie Bennett Reaves; his sisters, Velma Estep and Tee Honeycutt; his niece Wilma Gouge; and his son-in-law Eddie Valentine.
He is survived by: his children, Darla Valentine (Terry Archer), Diane Seruga (Jean-Claude) and David Reaves (Tina) of Jonesborough; his granddaughters, Ashlea Stout (Dillon) and Emily Reaves; his stepgrandchildren, Emily Seruga and Stephan Seruga; his close friends, Jimmy and Beverly Adams; and his caregiver Patty Hardin. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters-in-law.
A procession was held on Monday, November 4th 2024 at 12:15 PM at the Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home (418 W College St, Jonesborough, TN 37659). A graveside service was held on Monday, November 4th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Eden-Greenwood Cemetery.
