He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Lewis Stayer, Geneva Sliger Stayer, Hobert Matherly and Susie Johnson Matherly; his aunt Bessie Matherly; his uncle Walter Matherly; and his father-in-law Clarence E. Gentry.
He is survived by: his parents, Ronnie Stayer and Sandy Stayer; his spouse Shannon Stayer; his sons, Isaiah M. Stayer and Samuel J. Stayer; his brother Timothy M. Stayer (Brooke); his mother-in-law Tammy Gentry of Piney Flats; and also Jonesborough. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins.
