He was predeceased by: his parents, William Henry and Helen Gass Burton. He is survived by: his wife Marilyn Seybold Burton; his children, Mary Helen Hitson (Brian), Clinton and William Zachary Burton (Lisa) of Tampa, FL; his grandchildren, Sophie, Romy Hitson, Isaac, Taylor Burton, Gabriel, Millicent and Brielle Burton; and his brother Steve Burton (Darlene). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 at 11:00 AM and at 5:00 PM. A celebration of life was held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Grace Fellowship Church (2314 S Greenwood Dr, Johnson City, TN 37604).
