With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Sarah Ruth McElyea of Johnson City, Tennessee, born in Jonesborough, Tennessee, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on May 18, 2024 at the age of 96. She was predeceased by: her parents, William King and Sallie Nave King; her former husband Walter McElyea; her daughter Brenda Moore; and her grandson Steven McElyea.
She is survived by: her children, Gerald McElyea, Ronnie McElyea and Paula Freeman; her grandchildren, Alan Moore, Mark, Kelly, Logan Freeman, Eric McElyea and Crystal Hicks; her great grandchildren, Nathan Moore, A'Daya Scott, Shelby Freeman and Autumn Hazelwood; and her great great grandchildren, Ryder Young, Nora and Henry Hicks. She is also survived by one half-brother and sister; and lots of nieces and nephews.
