With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Jo Doris Hughes of Johnson City, Tennessee, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 19, 2025 at the age of 87. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Jo Doris Hughes to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Otto Whaley and Mary Iva Whaley; and her siblings, John Whaley, Harry Whaley and Margie Gray.
She is survived by: her husband Dan Hughes; her sons, Danny E. Hughes (Karen) and Joey L. Hughes (Karen); and her sisters, Mary Farthing (Howard) and Betty Gray (Wexler). She is also survived by four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 24th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Morris-Baker Funeral Home (2001 E Oakland Ave, Johnson City, TN 37601). A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 24th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Friday, January 24th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Monte Vista Memorial Park (1900 E Oakland Ave, Johnson City, TN 37601).
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are directed to Clark Street Baptist Church Building Fund (200 Clark St, Johnson City, TN 37604).
