He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Lee Rankin and Bertha Clifton Rankin; his wife Marilyn Goodman Rankin; and his siblings, J. W. Rankin, Harry Lee Rankin Jr., Newell Stillwell and Francis Cagle.
He is survived by: his son Chad Rankin (Ann) of Johnson City; his siblings, Tommy Rankin (Jean), Joe Stillwell, Rachel Rankin, Loretta Myers (Wendell) and Wanda Miller; his grandsons, Neil and Dillon Williams; his brother-in-law Daryl Goodman (Lori); and his nieces, Leslie Payne and Cali Payne. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 25th 2025 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the Appalachian Funeral Home (800 E Watauga Ave, Johnson City, TN 37601). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 25th 2025 at 12:30 PM at the same location. A committal service will be held on Tuesday, February 25th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Hamlett-Dobson Memorial Park (2630 TN-75, Blountville, TN 37617).
