With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Dorothy Canady of Johnson City, Tennessee, who passed away on September 15, 2023 at the age of 88. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Dahl Lloyd and Pearl Lloyd; her husband Doil Canady; her siblings, Earl Lloyd, Berta Crowder, Judy Foster and Barbara Julian; and her granddaughter Chantelle Dye.
She is survived by: her son Ray Canady; her daughter-in-law Mary Ruth; her daughters, Gloria Schmidt (Reno), Patricia Hawkins (Max) and Janice Williams (Matthew); her grandchildren, Russell Dye, Jason Gillette, Colleen Efurd, Erik Hawkins, Elexa Hawkins, Ella Hawkins, Elecsonder Hawkins, Lynsey Burleson and Jonathan Canady; and her great grandchildren, Corbin Hawkins, Austin Reber, Rebecca Burleson, Parker Burleson, Hunter Dye, Michaela McCusker, Marcus Dye, Jillian Gillette and Sutter Gillette.
In honor of Dot's memory, the family kindly requests donations be made to Greenvale Missionary Baptist Church, 1070 Gray Station Road, Johnson City, Tennessee 37615.
