He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugene Odem and Emma Odem; his wife Katherine Odem; his daughters, Darlene and Janet Odem; and his siblings, Ruth Peterson, Emma Jean Bewley, Sultina Venson, Pauline Horton, William Odem, Kenneth Mack, Robert Mack and Edward Lee Johnson.
He is survived by: his sister Loretha Holloway; his children, Buford Odem Jr. (Shirl), Rodney Odem, Julian Murray, Jolyon Murray, Yolanda Odem and Rochelle Odem; his grandchildren, Erica, Jason, Jordan, Najee, Bryant of Ciara, D. J., Prez Jr., Edmon, Devon and Josh; and his close friends, Charles Buford and Willie Talley. He is also survived by several great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews.
