It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Alva Jean Kilby (Johnson City, Tennessee), born in Greeneville, Tennessee, who passed away on December 17, 2018, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parent Thomas James. She is survived by: her parent Mary Lydia Lawson Hamblen; her husband Cecil Vernon Kilby; her children, Thomas James and Janet "Bonnie" Hutchens; her son-in-law Frank; her stepdaughter Mary Ann McConnell; her sister Nila Fugate; her grandson Wesley McConnell; and her nephews, David Fugate and Glenn Fugate.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in honor of Alva Kilby to the Washington County-Johnson City Animal Shelter.
