He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Johnson and Alice Johnson; his wife Lyla Faye Johnson; and his siblings, Delores Holmes and Ernest Johnson.

He is survived by: his siblings, Eva Pierce, Harlis Johnson and Nancy Street. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
