She was predeceased by: her parents, Odie Simpkins and Lena Simpkins (Carney); her husband Lyle; and her siblings, Lillian Simpkins, Louise Terry, Allie May Vandygriff, Odell Simpkins, Homer Simpkins and Ray Simpkins.
She is survived by: her children, Ray Lyle Carpenter, John Michael Carpenter and Joyce Ann Herring; her grandchildren, Jason Carpenter, Joseph Carpenter, Jeremy Carpenter, Michael Waggoner, Brian Carpenter, Brooke Martin, Stacey Jefferson, Rachel Carlin and Rebekah Schmidt; and her great grandchildren, Kathyrn, Steven, Kylee, Jocelyn, Jodi, Joshua, Wesley, Collin, Anna Ryan, Ella, Evelyn, Alissa, Gabriela, Ari, Michael, Lena, Ben-Luca, Constantin and Johanna. She is also survived by three children.
