He was predeceased by: his parents, Carrie Long Douglas and Clifton Long; his stepfather Charles Douglas; and his brother Donnie Douglas. He is survived by: his wife Lois Long; his aunt Ann Richardson; his cousin Sheila Westray; and his close friends, Ben Baldwin and Charlie Perry (Hazel). He is also survived by 3 nieces and 1 nephew.
