He was predeceased by: his parents, Buford Murray and Etta Murray; and his siblings, Willis Murray, Arvin Murray and Rosalee Franklin.

He is survived by: his wife Thelma Murray; his children, Patricia May, Lester Murray and Angela Foster (Kenny); his grandchildren, Doug Murray, Jonathan Murray, Kenneth Foster (Megan), Tabitha Foster, Tanner Murray, Samantha Lusk (Mikey) and Summer May; and his siblings, Dorothy Purkey, Shirley Patterson (Charlie) and George Murray (Maggie) of Robert Murray. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
