He was predeceased by: his son Lynn Finchum; his parents, A. L. Finchum and Grace Witt Finchum; his sister Trula Mae; and his brothers-in-law, Roy Bolinger of Pembroke, KY, Keith Mae, Joe Evans, Bill Hodges and Teazer.
He is survived by: his daughter Patti Black; his son-in-law David Black; his granddaughter Sara Grace Black of Brentwood, TN.; and his sisters, Jean Mee of Knoxville and Ella Bea Hodges of Strawberry Plains.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Beaver Creek Baptist Church or Walters State Lynn Finchum Memorial Scholarship Fund.
