He was predeceased by: his parents, Catherine Priscilla and Ralph Randolph Derrick; his sister Mattie Lynn Fletcher (Derrick); his half-brothers, Rufus and Glenn Derrick; his former wife Ruby Derrick (Ingle); his wife Faye Derrick (Kelly); and his grandson Preston Ford.
He is survived by: his daughter Barbara Ford (Derrick); his granddaughter Lindsey Ford; his sister Mary Lee (Derrick); his brother-in-law Joseph Vaidik; his niece Susan Williams (Vaidik); and his brother-in-law Floyd Fletcher. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
