He was predeceased by: his parents, Benton M. Stanley and Nora A. Stanley; his siblings, Sherman, Charles Stanley, Josephine Neilson, Virginia Carter, Betty Lou Phillips, Doris Duncan, Peggy Boyd and Brenda Holley; and his brothers-in-law, Jim Marlow and Edward Smith.
He is survived by: his children, Kimberly Cain (Philip), Burton Stanley Jr. and Lori Firestone (David); his grandchildren, Caroline, Caleb Cain, Emma McNelly (Ethan) and Audrey Firestone (Preston); his siblings, Daniel Stanley, Imogene Marlow, Nellie Shanks (James), Irene Smith, Catherine Cannon (Fred), Naomi Bryan (Darrell) and Debra Griffin (Kevin); his siblings-in-law, Betty Stanley and Phil Holley; and his nieces and nephews, Lisa Dupree, Melissa Visage, Tim Marlow, Chuck Stanley, Brian Smith, Nathan Smith, Bradley Parker, Michael Bryan, Matthew Bryan and Mark Bryan.
