With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Nelda Joy Phillips of Jasper, Tennessee, born in Chattanooga, Tennessee, who passed away on May 26, 2024 at the age of 77. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, James Edward Long and Joyce "Punk" Winona Long. She is survived by: her husband Herschel Brian Phillips Sr.; her children, Herschel Brian Phillips Jr. (Nichole Phillips) and Heather Joy Phillips Yother (Scott Yother); her grandchildren, Caitlyn Elizabeth Phillips Henderson (Joey Henderson), Sydney Reese Phillips, Jack Henry Phillips, Jacob Brian Friant and Zachary Robert Friant; her brother James Douglas Long (Kathy Long); her niece Sheena Kay Long Thomas (Joey Thomas); her sisters-in-law, Linda Barnett (Sherman), Rebecca Dalrymple (Doug) and Marygrace Boyd; her nieces and nephews, Kelly Coffman, Haley Dalrymple, Annie Frances Boyd, Will Barnett, Gideon Barnett and Caleb Barnett; and her friends, Brenda Condra and Dr. Ronald E. Calhoun.
