She was predeceased by: her husband Albert Leroy Layne (Roy); her parents, Katherine Flannery James and James Elred James of Jasper; her sister-in-law Sharon Layne Hughes of Pawley's Island; and her parents-in-law, Dwight and Mary Alice Layne.

She is survived by: her sons, Michael Layne (Angie) and Bryan Layne; her grandson Brandon Layne; her brother-in-law Jerry Huges of Pawley's Island, S. C.; and her friend Lynda Smith.
