He was predeceased by: his daughter Gwendolyn Turner Brooks; his stepmother Paralee Graham Turner; and his brother John William Turner, Jr.. He is survived by: his spouse Charlsie Grider Turner; his children, Romona Turner of Jasper, Tennessee and Melvin N. Turner, Jr. (Becky) of Bryant, Alabama; and his sister Doris Turner Brown of Jasper. He is also survived by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; one niece, one nephew, and a host of friends.
