It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Kathy Lynn (DenBleyker) Tate of Jasper, Tennessee, who passed away on July 16, 2024, at the age of 71, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid Kathy farewell, let us not mourn the absence of her physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of her spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Kathy is not truly gone, but merely transformed, her energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank Smiggen and Arda Bly Smiggen; and her brother Joe Smiggen. She is survived by: her significant other Matt Tate of Jasper, Tennessee.; her daughter Wendy Shannon (John); her sisters, Suzy Williams (Ralph) and Rebecca Comerford; and her grandchildren, Dixie Lynn Shannon and John Shannon, III. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, other family members and special friends.
