He is survived by: his wife Martha Godsey Payne of Jasper; his children, Jerry Alan Payne of Jasper and Robert Daniel Payne of Nashville; his sister Jan Gilliam (Dewey) of South Pittsburg; and his granddaughter Emily Payne Terry (Carlton).
