He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert Edwin Wells, Sr. and Lillie Ann Hancock Wells; his siblings, David Wells, Margie Dover and Betty Ragan; and his granddaughter Kennedy Griffith.
He is survived by: his children, Allen Wells, Pam Griffith and Jan Coffelt (Troy); his grandchildren, Tyler Moore, Shelby Moore, Kolbe Griffith, Brent Layne (Becca), Lucas Coffelt (Becca) and Payton Ireland (Daniel); and his great grandchildren, Cru Layne and Tess Layne.
