He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Adkins and Mabel Adkins (Cooper); his sister Donna Adkins; his parents-in-law, Bill Beaty and Vella Mae Beaty Darnell; his brothers-in-law, Keith, Kenny "Asby" and Richard "Leon" Beaty; and his niece Sarah Beaty.
He is survived by: his wife Billie Jean Adkins (Beaty); his daughters, Ashlie Adkins (John Rigsby Jr) of Bowling Green, KY and Angela Barnes (Brandon) of Clarksville, TN; his grandchildren, Alyson, Jayce Rigsby, Camden and Caroline Barnes; his sister Diana Gullet (Jim) of Bowling Green, KY; and his nieces and nephews, Amy Carter, Kim Cruz, Jimmy Beaty, Ryan and Jason Meadows.
