He was predeceased by: his parents, James Smith and Verble Smith. He is survived by: his wife Juanita Smith; his siblings, Sue Crooks, Patsy Upchurch, Kay Copeland (Ronald), Larry Smith (Marilyn) and Carol Cooper (Steve); his mother-in-law Imogene Blevins; his siblings-in-law, Flora Blevins and Vernon Blevins (Sandy); his siblings, Hershell, Ricky, Garry Smith and Linda Lou Smith; and his brothers-in-law, Joe Upchurch and David Crooks. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
