He was predeceased by: his wife Joretta Rains (Williams); his son Marion Wesley Rains; his great grandchild Tanner Sparks; his parents, Charlie Rains and Emma Rains (Huff); his siblings, Billy Roe Rains and Ruth Jean Smith; and his siblings-in-law, Harris Sells Paul Smith and Nita Rains.
He is survived by: his daughters, Anita Gail Sparks (Kenneth) and Vickie Lynn Rutledge (Vince); his grandchildren, Miles Shane Sparks (Stephanie), Rickey Shaun Sparks (Amanda) and Kalyn Joretta George (Blake); his great grandchildren, Shea, Cyra, Kenley, Kaylee, Ellasyn, Lynnix and Houston; and his sister Charldean "Tootie" Sells.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to be made to the Allardt First Baptist Church or Alive in the Spirit Church or the American Cancer Society.
