He was predeceased by: his parents, Estal Matthews and Ermin Matthews (Blevins); and his siblings, Helen Stewart, Velma Jean Terry, Betty Sue Copley, Thelma June Portenier, Harlen, Dean, Clayton, Charles and Bobby Matthews.
He is survived by: his wife Delores Matthews (Creselious); his children, Brian Matthews and Amanda R. Matthews; his nephew John Copley; his niece Cheryl Hodgkins; and his close friends, J. C. and Barbara Copley A. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to be made to the American Legion Post 137 or the Jamestown Masonic Lodge.
