He was predeceased by: his wife Wilma Jean Kirby (Ward); his parents, Lester Lee Kirby and Clara Belle Kirby (Pace); his son Douglas Ward Kirby; and his sister Rose Whittenburg.
He is survived by: his children, Jim Kirby, Jr., Lesley Holt (Terry) and Lisa Johnson (J. J. Scott Kirby, Sr.); his grandchildren, Kasey Campbell (Michael), Jay Holt (Jessica), Scott Kirby Jr. (Bobbie Jo), Abbi Dunford (Micah), Hannah Dixon (John), Miah Elmore (Justin), Robert Kirby (Crystal), Kelsey Bo Hamby (Cody), Logan Kirby (Jessica), Missi Testa (Joe), Jenna Kirby and Austin Johnson; his great grandchildren, Leo, Brooklyn, Kaitlyn, Annabeth, Samuel, Andrew, Hailey, Hannah, Eli, Jara, Sidney, Mallie, Penelope, Calvin, Tucker, Krew, Jacob, Tyler, Jase and Kyla; his great great grandchildren, Alivia, Spencer, Oakleigh and Anaiah; and his sister Martha Fort A. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other family, church family and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, December 27th 2024 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Roanoke Church (1058 Roanoke Rd, Jamestown, TN 38556). A funeral service was held on Saturday, December 28th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to The Gideons, FCECEF, Roanoke Church Building Fund or Cumberland GAP and they can be left at Jennings Funeral Homes.
