She was predeceased by: her husband Reed Hounshell; the father of her children Everett Ray Shepherd; her parents, Arthur Whitaker and Haley Whitaker (Prater); and her siblings, Fern Jean Janet, Gordon, Ralph, Mike and Randall "Butch" Roger.
She is survived by: her children, Debra Shepherd, Gayle Shepherd Saylor, Steven Shepherd and Kimberley; her grandchildren, Alex Saylor, Adam Saylor and Tabby Von; her children, Alec Bernstein, Brandon Bernstein, Alana Shepherd and Haylee Shepherd; and her siblings, Rhoda Arnett (Whitaker), Brenda Thornsberry (Whitaker), Kathy Howard (J. D.), James Whitaker (Ann), Lloyd Whitaker and Jerry Whitaker A. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
