With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Terrence Murray Poteet of Jackson, Tennessee, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on March 31, 2025 at the age of 86. As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Terrence Murray may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the echoes of his kindness, the warmth of his embrace, and the light of his enduring love.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Poteet and Lorraine Busby Poteet; and his wife Brenda Poteet. He is survived by: his sons, Brian K. Haines (Muriel T.) and Bret D. Haines (Jordana); his brother Roy Poteet (Ginger); and his grandchildren, Roxanne Haines, Devon Hayes, Dennis Hayes and James Tomer.
Visitation was held on Monday, April 7th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Lawrence-Sorensen Funeral Home (403 E Baltimore St, Jackson, TN 38301). A graveside service was held on Monday, April 7th 2025 at 1:30 PM at the Highland Memorial Gardens North Highland (3360 N Highland Ave, Jackson, TN 38305).
