He was predeceased by: his parents, Ester Lee Priddy Carver and Virgil Harris Carver; and his brothers, Paul Carver, Luke Carver and Virgil Carver Jr. (Connie Bee Carver).
He is survived by: his sisters, Arnell Campbell and Katheine Carver; his daughter Susan A. Ratliff (Eric); and his granddaughter Deuna B Ratliff. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
