He is survived by: his wife Debra Sands (McKeehan); his daughters, Allison Layton (Jacob) and Brooke "Booter" Cox; his pet Cooper; his stepson Jamie Dople (Tosha); his grandchildren, Hannah (Barney), Grace, Carlie, Avery, Mileena, Adalyn and Emery; his mother Shirley Prewitt Sands; his sisters, Catherine Sands and Rebecca Ells (Gary); his cousin Richard Jones; and his close friend Larry Garner. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, friends.
