She was predeceased by: her husband E. L. Adkins; her parents, James Hughes and Melissa Wells Hughes; her granddaughter Melissa Byrd; her siblings, Mildred Hughes, Louise Summers and J. Frank Hughes; and her son-in-law David Jones.

She is survived by: her children, Donna, Gene Prater Vicki, Alan Woodard Jim, Susan Adkins Jane Jones, Wayne Ivey Greg and Teresa Adkins; and her sister Wilma.
