He was predeceased by: his wife Janie Gallaher Carter; his parents, Jack Carter and Virginia McKinney Carter; his son Jason Carter; and his grandsons, Jarrod, Jordan, Orry and Briley Carter.
He is survived by: his children, Brent Carter (Cindy) and Penny Carter Brown (Gary); his grandchildren, Rachel Brown Ferguson (Marty), Kyle Carter (Brooklyn) and Jackson Brown; and his great grandchildren, Ava, Orrin and Fallyn Ferguson.
