He was predeceased by: his parents, Harvey Layne and Edna Chambers Layne; his wife Doris West Layne; his son-in-law Lee Abbott; and his siblings, Thomas Layne (Marie), Robert Layne, Freeda Sexton (Roel), Eula Layne and Bonnita Laxton (Hillard).
He is survived by: his daughter Gail Abbott; his grandsons, Jarrod Abbott (April) and Tanner Abbott (Brandy); his great grandchildren, Dante, Audrey, Aliyah, Remi and Violet; and his caregiver Kalissa Orick. He is also survived by Nieces, Nephews, and Special friends.
