Larry Putman Obituary
LARRY "HUCK" PUTMAN, age 89, of Huntland, Tenn., departed this life on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at his residence, losing a brief battle with cancer. Mr. Putman was born in Huntland, Tenn. to the late Ellis Putman and Jennie Gifford Putman on July 15, 1928. Mr. Putman was employed for approximately 30 years as a Steel Worker at Acme Steel in Riverdale, Ill.
He was an avid sportsman and enjoyed hunting. He was a member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church in Huntland. Mr. Putman was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Korean War. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Putman, brothers; Guy and Kenneth Putman, and grandson, Jess Gibson.
He is survived by his daughters; Diane Cox and husband, Jeff of Hawaii, Rebecca Tankersley and husband, Terry of Winthrop Harbor, Ill. 4-Grandchildren; Jennifer Brewster of Sacramento, Cal., Jake Gibson of Hawaii, Nathanael Tankersley of Winthrop Harbor, Ill., Tabitha Tellez and husband, Andres of Round Lake, Ill. 2-Sisters; June George of Huntland and Joann May of Belvidere. 3-Great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Mr. Putman will be held from 10:00 A.M. until Service time at 1:00 P.M on Saturday, December 30, in the Chapel of Grant Funeral Services, with Bro. Chris King, officiating. Interment will follow in the Watson Cemetery in the Hickory Grove Community of Huntland.
