He is survived by: his wife Katie Henshaw Thompson; his children, Susie Turpin, Douglas Thompson Jr (Tracy), Roger Thompson, Jamie Thompson (Marlene) and David Thompson (Sheena); and his brother Sam Thompson (Charlotte). He is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, extended friends.
