It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joan Thompson Meredith of Humboldt, Tennessee, born in Gibson, Tennessee, who passed away on February 23, 2024, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Wesley Thompson and Nina Stegall Thompson; her husband James Doyle Meredith; her children, Mike Meredith, Carlous Meredith and Brenda Jo Shumate; and her grandsons, Brandon Lynn Newman and J. R. Meredith.
She is survived by: her daughter Beverly Newman (Billy) of Humboldt; and her children-in-law, Cindy Meredith of Martin, Maggie Meredith of Murfreesboro and Dan Shumate of Mobile, AL.. She is also survived by thirteen great grandchildren.
