He was predeceased by: his siblings, Ruth Darnall, Jimmy Gooch, Cecil Gooch and Frank Gooch. He is survived by: his sons, Timothy Gooch (Sarah) of Waverly, NY, B. J. Gooch of Hornbeak and Bradley Gooch (Carrie) of Martin; and his sisters, Margaret Gooch Hunter of Tiptonville, Martha Jean Spann of Smyrna and Barbara Hanks of Tiptonville. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
