He was predeceased by: his son James Christopher Hurt; his parents, Dr. I. G. Hurt, Jr. and Rachel Black Hurt; and his brother Bobby E. Hurt. He is survived by: his wife Sue Hurt (Harder); his daughter Kellie Spitzer (Hurt); his grandsons, Christopher Michael and Hadley James Spitzer; his sister-in-law Imodean "Imy" Clay; his niece Kimberly Clay; his brother Jimmy; his sister-in-law Sue Harder Hurt; and his child Chris.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Hohenwald First United Methodist Church, 200 S. Court Street, Hohenwald, TN 38462.
