He was predeceased by: his parents, Ira Altz Riley, Sr. and Dollie Hickerson Riley; his children, Sonia Denise Riley and Eric Lee Riley; and his siblings, Denby Riley and Minnie Lee Cotham.

He is survived by: his wife Florine Riley; his children, Tammy Hankins (Travis McKissack), Chad Riley (Shannon) and Greg Hankins (Mel); and his brother David Riley (Linda).
