He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Taylor Varner; his sons, Daniel E. Varner, Andrew W. Varner, Derek J. Varner and Jason T. Varner; his grandchildren, Sarah Connor, Zane Varner, Vance Varner, Brett, Cameron Allen and Audrey Varner; and his great grandchildren, Raelyn Connor and Rowan Connor.

The military honors will be held on Monday, November 25th 2024 at 2:30 PM at the Chattanooga National Cemetery (1200 Bailey Ave, Chattanooga, TN 37404).
