She was predeceased by: her parents, Roscoe Sneed and Hazel Sneed (Gennoe); her former husband E. J. "Jack" Thorpe, Jr.; her husband Elzie Nelson; and also, Elzie L. Nelson, Thaxton Sneed, Dallas Sneed, Jay W. Sneed and Artis Shipley.
She is survived by: her children, Renee Griffin (Mark) of Estill Springs, Tennessee, Gregory J. Thorpe (Rhonda) of Hixson and Edward J. Thorpe of Hixson; and her sister June Wilson (Tommy) of Dayton. She is also survived by her four grandchildren; her nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 29th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Vanderwall Funeral Home (164 Maple St, Dayton, TN 37321). A celebration of life was held on Thursday, January 30th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Thursday, January 30th 2025 at the Pleasant View Cemetery.
