He is survived by: his wife Courtney; his daughters, Abby and Natalie; his parents, Pam Smithson (Danny) and Richard L "Pat" Patterson; his parents-in-law, Allen and Jerri Tripp; his siblings, Erin Lavin (Craig) and Peter Smithson; his niece Emma Lavin; his nephews, Mitchell Lavin, Lucas Lavin-Smithson, Sawyer Lavin-Smithson and Shepard Lavin-Smithson; and his grandparents, Lucy Lackey, Charles Patterson (Joanna) and Joyce Patterson. He is also survived by many other family members and friends.
