She was predeceased by: her sons, James Westerwal and Bobby "Robert" Westerwal; and her stepfather Samuel Thomas. She is survived by: her husband Guy Cowden; her mother Grace Lesher; her children, Sherri Rightmire and Randy Westerwal; and her brother Neil Thomas. She is also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.
