She was predeceased by: her parents, Herbert L. Clift and Bertha M. Clift; her husband Thomas Edwin Carden; her siblings, Warren Clift, Edwin L. Clift, Robert Clift, Kenneth D. Clift, Catherine Durgerian, Mildred Workman and Jewell Clift; and her grandson Steven E. Carter, Jr..

She is survived by: her siblings, Virginia Sue Chambers of Hixson and Raymond Don Clift of Hixson; her daughters, Susan Brown (Robert) of Dayton and Patricia Eslinger (Michael) of Chattanooga; her grandsons, Warner R. Harvey, III of Dunlap, Patrick Harvey (Lucy) of Soddy Daisy and Andrew Beeby of Nashville, TN; her great grandchildren, Lana Harvey of Dunlap, Rylan Harvey Reed Harvey of Soddy Daisy and Ryder Harvey of Soddy Daisy; her stepgrandchildren, Melissa Eslinger of Texas and Jason Eslinger of South Carolina; and her friend Rita Jones. She is also survived by six step great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
